Five years and it still looks like OE6. No stationary either.  I'm not sure anyone in business with Outlook get stationary anyway. Do they? I'm a home user.

*No click drop down thumbnails of stationary in a slide show. Click to apply.

*No click drop down select MS Agent and type dialog to make character taking email.

I mean, take a look at my OE I just captured with a screen shot -- at least I made some stationary.

What is worth the money in Vista?  Annoying pop-ups?  Security that is MS problem and not the user anyway?

Does Notepad still look like Notepad -- but maybe see-through edges?  Is Calculator still Calculator?  Paint still Paint, etc?  Windows Blinds can make the Vista color scheme -- sort of black.

What eye candy and new apps do I get for my money?

Where has five years gone????

1) I hope this is not a resource intensive mail client.

2) Aside from disabling the preview pane, is the PLAIN-TEXT option standard?

3) ActiveSync capability with Windows Mail => PDA => Office Outlook and vice versa?

4) It Looks like AV programs need to be updated to support Windows Mail.

In response to Graham Varney, stationary is a Bad Thing(tm).  More often than not, stationary isn't formatted correctly in non-Microsoft mail clients or people have HTML rendering disabled in their mail clients for security reasons.  Windows Mail needs to focus on being a simple email client.

First of all, that lloks nothing like Windows Mail... Unless I have a really good version and your copy of Vista came with a weird demo version, then You took a screenshot of some weird Windows Mail. I happen to like it and you don't have to use stationary... It is a simple Email client, and a lot quicker to load than Outlook. I like Thunderbird too, but Mozilla stuff doesn't seem to work well on Vista... Firefox wouldn't open anymore the day I installed Vista. But why not just us MS stuff??? It goes quicker on Windows.... But whatever, you have your opinions, I have mine...

This is ridiculous. Can't attach it to a home page. Have to go to separate page to pull up your email! Not made for convenience!

Hi,

Windows Mail works neat and clean... But does not have Contacts pane, and a contact pane could also be included while creating mail.. Otherwise, its very easy to use, insert pics, links and format text..

Thunderbird looks fine, but creating stationery and inserting pics are little cumbersome...

If windows mail has the contact pane, and the look if slightly refined like Thunderbird.... its all would be more good....

Hope MS is listening to this...
