Maybe not as compact as the classic, but I like it. Would work well with something like a beginner profile.

Where's the cancel which allows us to stop closing the application and do something before saving or discarding?

Stan makes an excellent point there! Also, I recommend changing those green arrows. At least the "Don't save" button should use red as an alerting color. An "Abort quitting" feature could use a yellow one.

That is a YES/NO question.  Too wordy.  Does it really save a copy of the work, or does it overwrite the file?  I miss going back to basics.

I very much like having the verbs as buttons instead of ambiguous "yes/no" options.  This setup makes your choices much more clear when you don't want to read a lengthy dialog and figure out what "yes" means, as in your other examples.

Considering the dialog box's question is a yes/no question the options should simply be:

* Yes (recommended)

* No (lose the changes you have made)

Or

Don't put a question at all if the options don't actually answer the question (like the example above). Just simply put:

* Save (recommended)

* Don't Save

Or

Change the question to "What would you like to do?"
